Time Won't Give Us Time

Image
“Time won’t give us time,” according to the song “Time” by the 1980’s band “Culture Club.”  It is the one resource that is non-renewable; it is here today and gone tomorrow. Time does not wait for anyone nor does it make us a better version of ourselves down the road; it just makes us older or, what I preferred, an older but wiser version of ourselves. Therefore, what we do with the time we have left, and it varies among every individual, is to use it the best way we can before it runs out.   I have spent a considerable time in the first half of my life literally wasting time in the trivial pursuit of trying to find my way and place in this world, attempting to redefine who I am a few times, only to find out who I really am and who I am really not. Like everything in life, the identities of who we thought we want to be is as fleeting as time itself. We are continuously changing and evolving into someone or something that only our circumstances will allow,...

Why I Do What I Do

I created this blog for the simple reason I am not a YouTuber-type. Although I enjoy watching and learning from a variety of contents on YouTube, I came to a quick realization that it is not for me because I am somewhat of an "Old School" when it comes to how I express myself  (I am a blogger and not a vlogger),  preferably through writing and not getting in front of a camera and talking. I was always better (at least in my opinion) at the former than the latter. Plus, I don't like to finish a project and find out later I had made a mistake. Once the video content has been uploaded on YouTube it is a done deal; there is no going back to make edit and you have to start over again if you made a mistake. With blogging (writing), at least, I can always go back and correct my mistakes, as many times I want to or need to, without having to start over again.  I started blogging back in the late 2008 as a guest writer for another blog. Through compliments of what I had written an...

Life Begins at 60...or...Whatever Age You Feel It Should Begin.

Image
I thought I would try my luck in creating a new blog of sharing my life adventure with my wife, as we try to live out our retirement years in total bliss.  They say life begins at 60. Well, we are both 60 years old now and could not be happier; we could be a little healthier but that is okay, too.  As long as we can still take our next breath with ease, then I guess  we are doing fine. So here is to everyone out there: enjoy life to the fullest, but do it as simply as you can, because it is here today and will be gone tomorrow. I am hoping that along in the process of my writing I will be able to share my experience--insight, hindsight, and foresight--as well as impart the handful of wisdom I have gained in my life's journey. So join me in my Spartan-like approach to life as I share the adventures I have had and hope to have more of in the future.
